The person who perished in a late-morning collision in Vigo County on Sunday has been identified.
Nicholas Casad, a 20-year-old Terre Haute resident, was the fatal driver, according to Sheriff John Plasse.
Deputies were summoned to a single-vehicle crash at State Road 159, just north of Harlan Drive, at 11 a.m., according to a Vigo County sheriff’s social media post.
On 159, Casad was traveling north when he crossed over into the southbound lane, skidded through the grass, and collided with a tree.

Plasse said that Casad perished in the collision.
