The state election is mere days away, so it’s time to start thinking about where and when you can vote. There are some important things to know.
The date for the election is Saturday, March 25. But you can have your say earlier.
People can vote at any polling place in NSW and plenty will open at local schools, churches, community halls and public hearings.
Voting opens at 8am on election day and closes at 6pm sharp, but not everybody will be able to do so on the day.
If that’s you, there are plenty of prepoll options available.
Before March 25, voters are able to request a postal ballot from the NSW Electoral Commission website or from its offices.
Early voting centres opened on Saturday, March 18. You can search for the one nearest to you below.
More Coverage
The Australian Electoral Commission states that ballot papers must be completed and witnessed on or before election day.
If you’re not in the state where you’re enrolled to vote on election day, you will need to vote at an interstate voting centre.
The AEC also makes it possible for voters to cast a ballot from overseas but ballots must be returned in time to be counted.
If you are enrolled to vote in New South Wales but will be interstate for the 2023 NSW state election, you can vote in person or by postal vote. Interstate in-person voting is available until Friday, 24 March.
