Alton, Illinois, is where Anderson was born and raised. When Anderson’s young father died of a heart attack, his mother promptly remarried. He attended Alton High School and received his diploma there in 1975. In 1980, he wed Debra Ann Eickert; four years later, their union broke down, and they divorced. In 1984, he also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Elmhurst College. He married Barbara E. Lynch in Chicago on March 30, 1985.

On April 21, 1992, Mr and Mrs Anderson went to a movie and ate at a T.G.I. Friday’s in northwest Milwaukee, close to the Northridge Mall. After they got back from dinner, Jesse stabbed Barbara five times in the head and face.
After causing some minor skin damage, he stabbed himself four times in the chest. Barbara suffered an injury, went into a coma, and died two days later.
Anderson claimed that two black men attacked him and his wife. According to the findings of the investigation, this shop was the only one in Milwaukee to offer this specific model of knife. Anderson was detained and accused of murder on April 29. On August 13, a judge found him guilty and sentenced him to 60 years in jail, including a mandatory life term without the possibility of release.
